"Framing" this "War" for the next few posts... (9/23/24)

Don't worry I hate that title too. But welcome (potentially back)! It's been a decent weekend for me not too much to complain about, hopefully yours was just as nice. Got a quick little post I wanted to make as it's time to share with you guys about what's coming up. I've got some pretty sick things cooking right now, and I gotta share it soon since everybody's gotta eat. Okay look I'm bad at analogies but this is a blog post not a final essay paper.

You may be asking what's up, what do I have that's requiring all this preamble? Well for the next little bit, the next three posts you're gonna be seeing on the blog are going to be about a trip I took back in July. It was a very special trip, as it was my very first time out of the United States. I didn't go very far mind you, I went to Canada. What did I go to Canada for? Well it wasn't for Tim Horton's, that much I can confirm.

The reason I went to Canada was for TennoCon! If you don't know, it's a convention dedicated to the game Warframe. I've always enjoyed Warframe, but for a long time I lost access to my account since it was linked to an old email. It was linked to a damn SBC email, and you either rolled your eyes at the ancient history or just have no idea what the hell I'm talking about. It's not important, what is important is after a few years of not being able to play I got my account back. Anyone who plays Warframe will tell you that there's never nothing to do and they are in fact correct. So much so that it's actually rather overwhelming, sometimes I look at how much I have left to do then I just freeze up and shut the game off. Other times I load up Dagath or Kullervo and just go to work and it's truly one of the most gratifying combat systems I've ever experienced in a game. Sorry, this isn't just about the game itself but rather the celebration surrounding it.

Now let's talk about those three posts real quick. The first of which is going to just be some general TennoCon coverage, talking about what it's like to go to the event as well as talk about what's to come for both Warframe and the brand new Soulframe. It's gonna be a piece where I can basically gush about the experience. I'm a fan of Warframe, and I will show you that I'm a fan. I don't see anything wrong with that, do you?

However, it's what comes next that I'm sure is gonna be the real meat and potatoes. You're only gonna know this information if you're reading this far ahead so if you are, thank you for your time I really appreciate it! The next two posts that are to follow afterwards are actually interviews with a few voice actors of the upcoming Warframe: 1999 story expansion! Hell yeah!

First up, you will get to see my interview with Gianni Matragrano AKA Gabriel from Ultrakill, who recently made his Warframe debut as The Stalker. In game, players know the Stalker as the one guy who constantly appears and keeping dropping Dread blueprints. However, in Warframe's recent Jade Shadows update, The Stalker gets his own little story to play through and Gianni is given his chance to shine. He does a stellar job in game, and he's a damn good time in person too. I even got to play a TMNT arcade game with the guy! I'm having some issues with formatting at the moment, from not coming to terms with how I want it to look as well as boring technical stuff that means nothing to anyone. Either way, this was a fun one and I'm beyond grateful for him taking time out of his day for me.

What's better than one interview? Two interviews! What's better than interviewing one person? Two people at the same time! The second interview will be with Nick Apostolides AKA Leon Kennedy from the Resident Evil 2 and 4 remakes as well as Ben Starr who most recently gave his performance as Clive Rosfield from Final Fantasy XVI. I'd be lying if I said this wasn't a tough balancing act for me, as I wanted to make sure both interviewees would have equal footing to answer fully. Both of them were just absolutely fantastic though, and Ben is forever going to be mad at me for a reason we will get into when the time comes.

As you can see these next few posts are about to get really exciting and I hope that you guys stay tuned for these as I'm super proud of what I was able to accomplish here. All I ask is that if you're able to, please spread the word. I'm not trying to be a celebrity or anything, I just think what I got here is worth talking about and I know that others can get as much joy out of reading my coverage as I did getting and writing it. Here's hoping to a good start of the week!
